Egg Freezing Costs in NYC 🪺❄️💰

Full Breakdown Below

Hi Friends! A lot of you wanted to know more about my egg freezing journey, and it just felt like a little too much to share all the details via IG / TikTok, so I wanted to revisit this space here to share more of the intimate details (on this and life in general, but we’ll start here). I hope this helps! There’s also a full YouTube video I did here.

PHYSICIAN / CLINIC

I did both rounds of my egg freezing at Weill Cornell's Center for Reproductive Medicine (info here). As mentioned, my sister is a physician (who also works at Cornell), so I was trusting from the start, but I still met with 2 other groups of physicians to make sure this felt right for me. My biggest advice is go with a physician / clinic that feels right for you! I can’t say that enough :)

COST BREAKDOWN

Below is the full breakdown of my first cycle of egg freezing in January 2024:

$8,425 - Procedure Cost (Including labs, bloodwork, ultrasounds)

$1,005 - New York Presbyterian Hospital Fee

$1,200 - Storage Fee

$600 - Medication that wasn’t covered by Insurance

$252 - Taxis and Transportation to/from Hospital & Appointments

TOTAL: $11,484

PHARMACY / MEDICATION

If you’re paying out of pocket, I found this reddit thread helpful for pricing medications. There’s a link to a spreadsheet as well as discount programs you might qualify for.

Alto pharmacy was the cheapest option for me and had the best customer service. I also had a great experience with Freedom Pharmacy (this was the preferred pharmacy my insurance used, so the drugs that were covered by my insurance were filled through Freedom Pharmacy). However, not all the medications were covered, so I went through Alto pharmacy for the ones I paid out of pocket. If you’re in NYC, the home delivery option made the process so easy and re-ordering was also simplified. I needed a refill on my medications during my cycle, and ordering from Alto definitely made the process less stressful! That said, you should absolutely call all the pharmacy options as they might have different quotes.

Let me know if you have any other questions below and I’ll respond here!
